It's Tuesday and that means I made a scrapbook page using My Digital Studio with this week's colourQ colors! If you want more info on this fabulous program...let me know! This week we have some bright weird, to me, (colors I would NEVER put together) colors to work with, but as soon as I saw them I remembered about this cute picture of my cousins little boy and him wearing a green onsie and playing with a tennis ball....perfect!!

So I started playing with the other colors in this weeks challenge and this page came together!

Onesies for Trace- SCIC47

Yesterday was Thursday and that means time for another Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge! This week we are celebrating cute little animals, strips and polka-dots! We hope you are inspired to make something and share it with us over at the Stampin' Celebration blog!

This week's inspiration pictures were perfect for me as I needed to make a welcome baby gift for a friend that had a baby boy recently!

Here is what I came up with a bag with a few personalized onesies for him to wear all tired up with a cute giraffe tag! I had so much fun making the tag and the onesies!

Here is a picture of the onesies I made. The first one has his name that I die cut using the Big Shot and the iron on adhesive and then just ironed it on the back of the onesie. The second one I made a tie (figured it was appropriate since he is the only boy with two older sisters!) on the front of the onesie. I made the tie by using a template I drew my hand and then again used the iron on adhesive to attach it to the onesie.

Here is a close up of the So Saffron punch art giraffe I made for the tag. I used various Stampin' Up! punches to make him (Hint...the head is the Owl Punch!). I made a tree for him to nibble on using the two step bird punch and a few hearts in Pear Pizzazz and then mounted it all onto a piece of Baja Breeze card stock that I sponged clouds onto.

I really had a great time making this entire project and I hope Mom and the new baby enjoy it!

Fringed Sewing Machine Cover (plus a tutorial)- ccmc-om5

We had a fantastic last week of projects and tutorials over at the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Mini Edition! I can't believe it is over! It went by so quickly. This week we have been creating using all the products in the Oh Sew Suite from the Occasions Mini.

Ok, on to this week's Saturday challenge which was to Sew (real or faux)! Usually Saturday challenges are for our subscribers to join in and every time they do they are entered to win a $75 Stampin' Up! merchandise gift certificate and a FREE registration to Create with Connie and Mary Summer Mini Edition, but this week, since it is our last week it is only for the Design Team.

My sewing machine needed a new cover so bad I could hear it begging me to use the Sweet Stitches designer Series fabric to make a new cover for it this week, sew (so) that is what I did!


I used one pack of Sweet Stitches designer series fabric to make the entire cover. I added the "SEW..." to the front of the cover using the Fabric Adhesive Roll and some dark brown fabric that was die cut using the Serif Essentials bigz dies.

Baby Blue Duck-CCCCact29

I have missed a week or two of doing Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenges and I have missed them! This week she has this fun color combo, Summer Sun, Bordering Blue, Whisper White (I used Very Vanilla instead...) and Tangerine Tango. What a fun color combo to work with! Go try it for yourself!

I need a baby boy card for friends that recently had a little boy, so that is where I went with this card! I started with texturizing the Bordering Blue card stock (I haven't ever used this color that much, but now that I did use it, I really like it!) squares using the Perfect Polka Dots and Square Lattice embossing folders and then just a piece of Textured card stock. I placed them in a square and then used my sewing machine to make a paper "blanket". I then took a piece of satin Very Vanilla ribbon and tied it around the "blanket" and mounted it onto a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and added a paper button to the middle of the ribbon knot.

The cute duck is from the retired stamp set Wagon Full of Fun and was stamped using black StazOn onto watercolor paper. I then took my markers and highlighted him with the appropriate color from this week then took my Aqua painter pen and colored him it.

The word "baby" was die cut using the Timeless Type Alphabet Jr. Sizzilts die and the Big Shot. I mounted the letters on the card using Stampin' Dimentionals to make it pop off the card a little bit.

My Rag Quilt Purse

(more sewing!)

I was inspired to start making these super cute Rag Quilt Purses by Angie Juda over at Chick n Scratch. (She has some great instructions if you want them.)

This is the first Rag Quilt Purse I made. I made it a few months ago and since have made a few others. I just love how it came out and how easy it was to make using the Big Shot. It is a great tool for sewing or quilting...it cuts up to 8 pieces of fabric at once using the Bigz Dies! If you would like more information...let me know!

The "Nancy"

Ok...I haven't ever posted anything I have ever sewn on my blog, but I am going to start.

Here is the front of a organizer/ notepad holder I made. I got the idea to make this while at Leadership in January. I was sitting in a class when a lady (Hi Nancy!) came and sat by me and she pulled out the cutest organizer/ notepad holder. I started making a sketch on my paper and then after the class asked her if I could take a few pictures so I could remember how it was laid out on the inside. Good thing I got pictures, because I just now got time today to make a pattern and make it!

Here is the inside with the pockets to organize things on the left and then the notepad holder on the right. The finished thing measures about 6 1/2" wide X 9 1/2" tall. The front and back cover of the organizer/notepad holder are hard/stiff to give it support. I am happy with the way it came out! I have decided to name this style of organizer/notepad holder the "Nancy". (If you want to see a close up, click on the photo.)

Build-a-Roo-Leadership 2010 Swap

This was my Leadership swap this year. It uses the stamp set Build-a-Roo. I had fun water coloring all the roo's and the flowers. The Roo was stamped onto Watercolor paper and then I colored them in using Stampin' Write markers and my Aqua painter pen.

The tiny sentiment is from Tiny Tags and I used the Medium Jewelry Tag to punch it out. I used a piece of Linen Thread to tie it to the Chocolate Chip ribbon.

The main image was mounted onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and then onto Vellum card stock that I sent through my Big Shot with the Texture Plate #4 (Daisies). I then mounted that onto a piece of Apricot Appeal card stock, sewed them together and then put it onto the Chocolate Chip card base.

Elegant Egg-let Flower- Color Throwdown #77

This week the Color Throwdown team has a refreshing color combo with Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery. What great colors to work with!

Here is what I came up with. The Elegant Eggplant flower was made using the Eyelet Border Punch, what a fun and easy way to make paper flowers in any color you want!

I added a Clear Rhinestone brad to the center of the flower and a piece of the new Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon as the leaves to complete the flower. I mounted the flower onto a Kiss from the Occasions Mini catalog.

I covered the Baja Breeze card stock with a piece of Vellum card stock I sent through my Big Shot with the Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder and then sewed them together and mounted it onto the Whisper White card base. The sentiment on the banner is from the new stamp set Messages for Mom.

Vanilla Wedding Cake- CAS32

This week over at Splitcoast the Clean and Simple (CAS) challenge was to make a wedding card. Here is what I came up with and I really like it! I don't think the picture does it justice at all! It was hard to get a good picture of the same colored detail.

I made the background for the card by sending a piece of Vellum Card stock though my Big Shot with the Damask texture plate. I then sewed it on to the card base using my sewing machine. I made the cake (I saw a cake like this on the boards at convention...but I don't know who made it!) by cutting pieces of Very Vanilla card stock and layering them to look like a cake and then added ribbon, flowers and brads to give it the finishing touch.

Blue Bird on a Branch- CAS30

Here is my card for Splitcoast's Clean and Simple (CAS) card this week. It was Make Overs week. What that means is re-make one of your cards you have made in the past and make it a CAS.

I was looking though my gallery and saw this owl card and thought I could make this simpler by making a simple cute bird I saw on Connie Collins blog instead of the owl. So here is what I did!

The bird was really easy and quick to make, along with the whole card, and I think he is cute! So thanks Connie for the great idea!

Owl Grad- Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #18

It's Sunday and you know what that means...another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge from Karen! Here is her sketch this week. Last night before I went to bed, I knew I had to make a graduation card today and was hopping that I could use Karen's sketch, and I did!


Here is what I made! I knew I wanted to have an owl on the graduation card, so I decided to make a punch art one, I think it came out cute! He even has his graduation cap on and his diploma in wing!

The owl is made using More Mustard, Sahara Sand and Whisper White card stock. I sponged around him a bit. The branch he is sitting on I cut out and then die cut some Little Leaves using the Big Shot to add to it. I used the stamp set Great Grads with Versa Mark Ink on the Bashful Blue background to make my own DSP.

The tassel on the cap is even in the appropriate colors for the grad who is receiving this card! I made the tassel by first dying some ribbon a darker green and then frayed it and mixed it with some white frayed ribbon. I hope she likes it!

Sweet Trendy Tree- SSSC #16

Here is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #16. Go check out her cute card and all the other people's card that entered this week!








Here is my card. It is a 3x3 made using Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. The tree is from the Trendy Tree's stamp set and the sentiment is from the Fundamental Phrases stamp set.



This picture shows the little tiny thread bow that I tied and attached to the tree trunk.

A quick, simple and cute card this week!

Fly Fishing Thanks

Here is a Fly Fishing thank you card I made for my husband to give. It uses the retired stamp set Fly Fishing. I bought it off Ebay awhile ago. I keep my eye out for fly fishing sets, because my husband fly fishes and so does his dad.



I was looking for ideas with this stamp set and saw a card made by snap_scrap_stamp over at splitcoast, so I CASED it. I used Kraft, Basic Black, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla card stock. I water colored the image using my Aqua Painter. I added a simple stitch (it is not perfect, but I think it fits the card that way) all the way around the image to finish it off.

Jewelry Color Inspiration #29- Sail Boat for a Boy

The other day I found Stacey's Stamping Stage blog and while I was looking around I found her Jewelry Color Inspiration #29 (She finds neat jewelry on-line and then posts a picture it of once a week and then you have to make a card using the colors that are in the jewelry...how neat!) So I decided to give it a try.

Her colors this week were Real Red, Bashful Blue, Barely Banana and Whisper White. As soon as I saw these colors I thought of a sail boat, so that is what I did.


Here is my sail boat! I think it came out kind of cute. When I added the "boy" stamp from Everything Baby (retired), it made me think of a baby card, but I don't think it is necessarily just a baby card, it could be used for any young boy!





I used my Big Shot and a few embossing folders (Large Dots and Squares) to give the Bashful Blue card stock some texture. I sewed around all the edges of the card with my sewing machine as well as the sail and the boat.



I finished off the card by adding a few buttons in the same color theme to the bottom right of the card.

I had fun with this color inspiration, so I think I am going to do it again next week!

Fabric Challenge Card

Hello! Today over at Splitcoast the Way's to Use it challenge (WT205) was to use fabric on your card . My card was not a really thought out card, I just started and went with it adding as I went! (very different card for me!)

I started with the fabric squares of the three different pink's. I decided to sew them together into a "blanket". I then decided that Chocolate Chip card stock would be a great background for it, so I sewed the "blanket" on to the card stock. Then I realized it needed a bit more of a background and that is when I added the square white card base background. I then stamped the "Thank you so much" stamp in the lower right hand corner and called it done! Very simple, but it fits the challenge and that is what I started out to do!

Here is a close up of the "blanket". As you can see I left all the fabric frays on the card and didn't clean it up too much...I think it just makes the card that much more interesting!
