This week Arielle as some very masculine colors to work with I think, so I found these pictures of my husband and his dad on a fly fishing trip to Alaska back in 2009! Better later than never...right? :)

I was searching for a picture to use and this one just jumped out at me because it has just the perfect colors in it to coordinate with this week's colourQ colors! (I mean look at the grass in the picture... it is Kiwi Kiss and Pear Pizzazz! :) ) These are pictures of my husband, Jon, fly fishing on a lake near Telluride, CO a few summers ago.

I had fun putting this page together, simple and to the point! I think I am addicted to the Whisper White Patterns DSP digital downloads, they just look good on any page I am putting together!

Fly Fishing Scene Birthday- Jewelry Color Inspiration #37

Here is Stacey's Jewelry Color Inspiration #37 inspiration piece. It is a cuff made from Japanese seed beads. The colors this week are Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Whisper White.

My husband's birthday was yesterday and I needed to make him a card, he is a fly fisherman, and I thought theses colors would probably work for that theme. So I pulled out one of my Fly Fishing stamp sets called Fly Fishing and made a card.

Here is what I cam up with. I think the colors worked very well with this scene. I stamped the image in Black Staz On onto water color paper and then water colored it using the Aqua Painter. I added the "Happy Birthday" stamp from Bitty Birthday, because it fit!
Just the other day my husband said he likes how stitching looks on cards, so I thought I would add some stitching to his card. I started off by doing something else than what you see here, but my sewing machine decided it didn't want to work for me, so I had to switch things up a bit, but I think it worked out ok.

Here is a close up of the scene. You can see all of the colors in this picture.

Fly Fishing Thanks

Here is a Fly Fishing thank you card I made for my husband to give. It uses the retired stamp set Fly Fishing. I bought it off Ebay awhile ago. I keep my eye out for fly fishing sets, because my husband fly fishes and so does his dad.



I was looking for ideas with this stamp set and saw a card made by snap_scrap_stamp over at splitcoast, so I CASED it. I used Kraft, Basic Black, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla card stock. I water colored the image using my Aqua Painter. I added a simple stitch (it is not perfect, but I think it fits the card that way) all the way around the image to finish it off.

Here are a few fly fishing cards that I made. My husband fly fishes, so I always have a few fishing cards on hand!

The fishing stamp sets I used are from old SU sets that I bought on E-bay. I used earthy colors on these cards, because I think that the colors go well with the theme of the cards. If you have questions as to which exact colors and stamp sets I used, please let me know.
