I love how you can change your pictures to black and white and then can use any colors you want on the page with them!  That is what I did with theses pictures of my husband and Hannah hanging out together.

Alex's First Birthday

This super simple page is of Alex on his first birthday.  The theme of his party was Dinosaur Pirate and these colors worked perfectly with the theme.

It's Tuesday and that means it is time for a new colourQ's challenge!  I had a lot of fun making my page this week.  The colors we used were Soft Suede, Peach Parfait, Dusty Durango, Pool Party and Whisper White.  I had the perfect picture to work with...my cousin and her little boy (he is becoming famous here on my blog! :))

As you can see I flipped the sketch. This page features my cousins little boy Alex having fun with some Easter eggs on his first Easter. This was such a fun sketch to use for a scrapbook page! This week we have some refreshing colors to work with and I found these amazing-ly perfect pictures that my cousin took of her nephew to use with them! The colors are Tempting Turquoise, Bashful Blue, Lucky Limeade (brand new color!!!), Basic Gray and White. The font I used was CAC Pinafore.

This week we have some fun colors to work with and they said "pool" and "water fun" to me as soon as I saw them! I found this picture of some of my family during a family reunion a few years ago we had in Ohio having some fun in my Papa's (grandpa's) pool.

I was searching for a picture to use and this one just jumped out at me because it has just the perfect colors in it to coordinate with this week's colourQ colors! (I mean look at the grass in the picture... it is Kiwi Kiss and Pear Pizzazz! :) ) These are pictures of my husband, Jon, fly fishing on a lake near Telluride, CO a few summers ago.

I had fun putting this page together, simple and to the point! I think I am addicted to the Whisper White Patterns DSP digital downloads, they just look good on any page I am putting together!

This is a picture of my husband at the Ace Hardware Paint Plant tour in Matteson, IL. Did you know Ace Hardware makes their own paint? (and a very good paint at that? :) ) We had the opportunity to tour it while we were attending the Ace Hardware convention in Chicago a few weeks ago. It was very interesting getting to tour the plant and see how it is all done!

This week we have some rich colors to work with. I was having a tough time with the colors until I thought of this idea! I think it worked out great!

This week we have some soft snuggly (is that a word?) colors to use and what better pictures to use with them than some cute pictures of my cousins new baby boy Wyatt?! I was super excited that his aunt (you can see her photography skills here and if you are in the Denver area, and need pictures taken...let her know!) had just taken his newborn pictures and they were perfect for this weeks colors!

I had a hard time using pink on this baby boy page, but in the end, I really like how this page came out!

I knew I was going to scrapbook a picture of my Grandma and Grandpa because they are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this week, but I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to use these colors for it!

I finally decided that clean and simple and to the point was the way my scrapbook page needed to head, so that is what I made. I do think it turned out well and I did manage to use all the colors!

My Digital Studio- Baby Alex- cqc#74

It's Tuesday and that means the colourQ has some new colors to be inspired by! It's also time for another digital scrapbook page! I look forward to making these pages every week! I love using My Digital Studio!

(click on the page to see it bigger!) When I saw this week's colors I immediately thought BOY and BABY and then my cousins baby boy Alex came to mind! So I used a picture of him (thanks Brittany!) for my page.

These cute pictures that his aunt took of him were perfect for the colors this week (Pear Pizzazz, Tangerine Tango, Bordering Blue, Early Espresso and White). I also got inspiration from the colourQ picture for my page layout with the square tiles all lined up. I did tilt each of the squares on my page just a little bit to fit with the baby bot theme.

It's time for another digital scrapbook page...yippe!! This week Arielle over at the colourQ had some challenging colors for me to use for a scrapbook page, but I guess that is why it is called a "challenge" right?? (click on the picture to view it larger)

The colors for this week are Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango (challenging color for me!!) White and Crumb Cake/Kraft.

I knew this week I wanted to use a picture of my husband and I, this week will be our 4th wedding anniversary :), but didn't realize how hard it would be to find a picture of us that went with these colors! I had to dig deep and found this picture of us in 2006...before we were even married!

I was having a hard time finding anything Tangerine Tango to use, besides normal card stock, until I found Tangerine Tango in the Stitches DSP from the Sew Sweet paper pack in My Digital Studio and cropped all the other colored stitches out and just used the Tangerine Tango ones!

I do like the way this page finally came out! (you do not want to know how many layouts and element changes I went through to get my final page...)

Cousins & Papa page- cQc#70

It's time for another digital scrapbook page! :) Arielle has some great colors this week for the colourQ color challenge #70. They are Poppy Parade, Cameo Coral, Blushing Bride, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.

I have to admit, I had a HARD time finding a picture that I liked with these colors, but I finally found one that would work and then made it even better by messing with the color a little bit using Picnik!

Here it is...my "Harris Cousins & Papa" page! I made my own DSP using one of the images from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Sweet Summer stamped over and over again in a pattern and then"colored" it in using small punched circles with the colors from this week....yes a little bit of work, but I think it was totally worth it!

Today I am beginning a new adventure.....posting Digital Scrapbook pages (using only Stampin' Up!'s digital crafting option, My Digital Studio) ! I tried out for the colourQ Scrapbook team (see this post) and then got a position on the colourQ Scrapbook Design Team! I am super excited because this is a great excuse (isn't it bad I have to call it that?) to start scrapbooking again! I will design a page every other week for the colourQ challenge.

I would suggest you taking a peek at the colourQ challenge blog and playing along when you can! You do not have to scrapbook, you just have to create something using the colors Arielle has picked for that week!

Ok, so onto this week's colourQ challenge! Look at these warm rich colors Arielle has picked for us this week! They are Cherry Cobbler, Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Always Artichoke and white.

My husband loves to fly fish and I had a great picture of him showing off one of his catches, so I decided to use it with these colors and it worked out perfectly! (click on the picture to make it bigger!)

I used multiple layers and elements on this pages, including Vintage Overlays, Stamps, text and embellishments.
