Say What?- MDS Blog Hop

Our daughter has been talking for a little while and she is starting to say some pretty cute and funny things!  So I decided to make a book in MDS so we could document them and look back at them someday!  I decided to go with a board book from SU! to be a little different and not just thin paper pages like a traditional album has.  Here are a few sample pages.

I used the Be Totally Awesome kit for the DSP and the Word Bubble punches for all the word bubbles.  I plan on using a permanent ink pen of some kind to record what she says.  I kept the layout simple, so her sayings would be the main focal point.  (I am not sure why the colors on the pages above look to be antiqued...in real life they are bright and vibrant.)

Quick Simple Page- MDS Blog Hop

So this page was super easy....I used a template that SU! already has designed and I didn't even change anything on it!  It was a quick way to scrapbook a few recent pictures my husband has taken our our daughter.

This page just goes to show that you do not have to have all the time in the world to scrapbook family memories and photos!

Hand Cut Onesie- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This is our first hop of the month, so we have a theme!  We decided to show you what kind of projects you can do using MDS and an eCutter and/or hybrid style.  Don't forget to stop by our Pinterest page with all of our projects pinned!

So here is what I made:

A card for my cousin and their new baby!  I designed the onesies in MDS using a stamp for the onesie and then I added an overlay over the top of each of them to give them all a little different print and texture.  Then, if I had an eCutter, I would have sent it to the eCutter and had it print and cut it out, but I don't, so, I printed them out and cut them by hand out.  I sponged the edges once I was done cutting to soften the edges just a bit.  I also did the custom greeting in MDS as well.  I added a few dimentionals, buttons and twine and my hybrid card was done!

This was a fun card to create, even though I had to cut the onesies out by hand :)!

Customized Birth Stat Wall Art- MDS Blog Hop

Here is what I made:

 

It is frame-able subway wall art of my nephew's birth statistics for my sister to hang in his room!  Someone gave us something very similar to this when our daughter was born, and it hangs in her room, so I thought it would be so easy to make one for my sister in MDS, and it was!  It was nice because I could choose the colors and fonts I wanted to use to match his room decor. 

I printed this out at home and put it in a simple white frame and gave it to my sister, she loved it!

Bee Mine?- MDS Hop

A very simple and quick print at home valentine.  This would be cute as a topper on a bag of treats for just printed out and out on a card base.  You could even add a little glitter to the wings once you printed it to give it a little more bling!

All About you Ryland- MDS Blog Hop

My sister had a baby about 2 weeks ago and here is one of the things (I do not want to post them all yet, because then she will see them and they will not be a surprise!!) I made for her:

It is journal I designed and had printed through MDS!  I have made several journals for new moms and I think they have all really enjoyed them, so I made my sister one too.

And here it is printed!  It just came in the mail, so I took a quick picture to show you what it looks like printed!  It looks awesome!  I LOVE these journals!

Hannah's (going to be) Two!

Our daughters birthday is at the end of the month, so I made a few invitations for a small birthday party we are going to have for her.  Here they are:

 I saw a card like this online and liked the simplicity of it.  Theirs had a picture for the background, but I didn't want to use a picture, so I used DSP instead and also flipped the entire card to go horizontal.  They were so easy and quick to make!  The colors I used were Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, Pool Party and Island Indigo.  I also added a few Silver Glitter paper stripes as well.

I needed to mail these soon, so I decided to print them at home and then mount them on to Blushing Bride cardstock.  They looked good, but the Glitter paper didn't really look like much, so I added a few Dazzling Details to the glitter paper stripes and it looks great now and they are in the mail!

The fonts I used were KG How Many Times for (Hannah and the main text) and A Gental Touch for the (turning two).

Gould Christmas 2013- MDS Blog Hop

I decided to share our Christmas card for this year with you.  You may recognize it from about a month ago on this hop, but now it is finished (front and back) and and has an updated picture of our daughter.  I thought it may be here in time to post a picture of the actual printed card that I ordered, but that is not the case.....here it is in digital form:

So this is the card we decided to use this year!  It uses the Jingle and Joy kit.  I had fun making the "stationary" on the back of the card for our little greeting.

I love using MDS for Christmas cards!  You design one and then print/order as many as you need!  It makes it so easy!

It is a Thank You card I made for my sister so she would have easy thank you cards ready after her baby shower.  I used the colors of their nursery (Grey, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise).  I didn't make them very "babyish" just in case she had extras so she could use them later for non baby things too.

Hello Christmas- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  We have a "theme" for this hop and it is Christmas! And remember, we still have our Pinterest page with all of our projects we have made in the past!


Here is what I made:

It is a Christmas card front using the Jungle and Joy kit!  This card just kind of came together as I was trying to play with ideas for a Christmas card this year for us.  (This is just the first of many samples I am sure I am going to make, but want to start early, since SU! is having that awesome print sale through November!)  The back will have a little letter about our year and probably a family photo.

The picture of my daughter is from January of this year.....eeeek......so it is old!  I will have to update the picture if we use this card!

Advent Tree- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the NEW MDS Blog Hop!!

Over the past two years we have joined together to share our passion for digital designing with Stampin' UP's My Digital Studio. We have a few new designers that have joined us recently- Welcome Cori, Julie B. and Elizabeth!  There are now 10 of us on the team! 

You will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month! We will have a "theme" selected on the first hop and then a "What we are doing in MDS" on the second hop. Also new, is the hopping method. Just click on the NEXT button at the bottom of my post and it will take you to the next person on the hop.  And remember, we still have our Pinterest page with all of our projects we have made in the past!

So this week we have themes!  We have all picked a holiday theme to make a project around.  I picked Christmas!  I always like the idea of an advent calendar and I think this year my daughter (she will be 2 around Christmas) would have fun doing something.  So I came up with a simple magnetic refrigerator advent tree!

 
Here is the tree that I will put on the ridge on December 1.  The tree is a stamp from the Days in December kit.  I added the garland using the free form line tool.  And the background is just some snowy DSP.

Here are all the pieces she will be "decorating" the tree with throughout the month!  I am going to print these out and either cut  (I wish I had an e-cutter!!) or punch them out and add magnets to the back.  Then every day she can add one to the tree.
