First Bath- MDSM12

It's Monday and time for another MDS Monday Challenge! It is Holly's turn to provide a sketch and challenge. She is challenging us and you to use the brush tool someplace on your page. Here is the page I made:

Can you spot what I did with the brush tool? See the water waves? I drew those freehand using the brush tool...how fun! I used the Hello Baby kit on my page. I thought it went well with the pictures of my daughter getting her first bath at home. The font I used for the title is called Scribble Box and the journaling is Digs My Heart.

Here is the sketch:

The big circle in the middle of the page kind of freaked me out at first, but then I played around with it and got something to work and I like it! Thanks for the challenge Holly!

Spring Hop- MDS Blog Hop

The MDS Blog Hop crew is back with another hop for you!! This is or first hop of the month, so we have a theme...it is Spring! Don't forget about our Pinterest page too!! With the theme this time and it just being Easter, I made an Easter page. Here it is:

I kept it simple. The embellishments and DSP are from the Spring Fever kit and the doily in the back is from the kind-of-new download Paper Doilies. I did recolor the DSP from the kit to Wisteria Wonder and changed the opacity to make it match her outfit.

Simple page, but now it is ready to go in our 2013 album!!

First Airplane Ride- MDSD11

It's Monday and time for another MDS Monday Challenge! This time Tara has a sketch for us as well as a little challenge. She is challenging us and you to use primarily only one (your favorite!) kit to design your page with. Here is the sketch:

Honestly, I was a bit intimidated by the top left part of the sketch. But I sat down and challenged myself and here is what I made:

It is a page about our daughters first airplane trip this past February! I used the Sent with Love kit (I wouldn't call it my favorite, don't know if I have one, I like them all!!, but this kit was perfect for my pictures, so it was my favorite for this page! lol!) The only thing not from the kit are the clouds...but I felt the page needed clouds, so I added them.

Visiting Santa for the First Time- MDS Monday Challenge

It's Monday and I have some exciting news! I was invited to me apart of the MDS Monday Design Team! I am very excited to be apart of their team! MDS Monday is a My Digital Studio challenge blog that posts a new sketch and usually a little challenge or technique to go with it every other Monday which makes for a fun way to try new things with MDS!

Today our hostess is Joan and she created this sketch:

Although this is a double spread, you can take the option of selecting only one of the pages to do if you like. The bit of "technique" this week is to use a frame ON TOP OF YOUR PHOTO to highlight something within the photo.

So here is the page I made:

I went with the one page option (the page on the left) and you can see that I mirrored the sketch. I used the Letters to Santa DSP and then used the Candid Frames kit for the frames on my page. The font is called Irish Spaghetti.

First Time Sledding! - MDS

Here is a page I made of my husband and I taking our daughter sledding for the first time on new years day!

I found this sketch on Pinterest and thought it would be perfect for these pictures. I used a lot of different things from different downloads to make this page. The clouds are from the Sunny Day kit, the background papers are from Storytime, and Wonderful Whimsies, the snow falling is from the Home for the Holiday's, the ribbon is the Timeless Taffeta Trimmings, the paper that the journaling is on is from the Get it Done kit and the button is from the Storytime Kit. The font on my page is Janda Safe and Sound.

I had fun putting this page together and it will be the first one on our 2013 album!

Knee Pads- MDS

MDS Monday has a new challenge this week! They have a sketch, but also threw in a technique challenge to photo fill grouped boxes. This is a fun technique to use and very easy too! Here is my page:

I stuck real close to the sketch and kept the page pretty simple. I added a few ink splatters to the background cardstock, some staples to hold down the strips of DSP and added a little journaling. I can't decide, but I think I like the title size. I tend to always think that titles need to be big and bold, and they always seem like they are the hardest thing to fit on the page for me. So I am taking that as a hint and making them smaller. This one just kind of fell onto the page, and I think it looks ok.

Meeting Papa- MDS

My daughter is going to be one in less than 2 weeks....(WHAT???), so I am trying to get all her first year pages done for the scrapbook I am making....here is the latest page I made:

I CASED Erica's layout here and changed them theme to fit the pictures of my Grandpa meeting my daughter for the first time. I went with the more masculine colors scheme and used the Hexagon punch filled with DSP from the Well Worn kit and added a frame from the Downtown Grunge kit and a few Mis-Stitches. I also added a few overlays over the background paper to give it more of a textured look.

I am happy with the way the page turned out!

Story Time- MDS

Here is a page I made using the Storytime Ensemble kit from Stampin' Up! I thought it was a perfect for for the picture that I wanted to scrapbook.

I got the layout idea from Pinterest. This page has a different feel than most of my pages, but I think it turned out cute! I love all the little animals and characters that are in the Storytime kit. It also comes with a lot of great page layouts as well!

All Bundled Up!- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop! This week we were to use our stamp brush sets. I used a few on this page I made that was also for the mds.net weekly challenge. I didn't use as many stamp sets as I should/could have, but there are a few. My page features my daughter all bundled up for a fall walk with mommy and daddy.

I had a lot of fun designing this page and I love the way it came out! I made the hexagon dsp by filling the hexagon punch with dsp from the Wonderfall kit and some Melon Mambo large polka dot dsp. I added a few rhinestones, changed them to Melon Mambo to match my daughters coat, added a few stitches, a little journaling and I was done!

The frame around the picture is a stamp from the A Split Second and the mittens are from the Frosty Day stamp set. I really like the new crop tool in MDS2 as that is how I got the two mittens separated.

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge

Little Pumpkin's 9 Months Old- SCIC59

It's the first of the month and that means Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge has got a new set of inspiration pictures for you!! Here is a double page 12x12 page layout of my 9 month old daughter!

I was inspired by the colors from our inspiration piece this month to make my page with. I used the Wonderfall Kit for the DSP and leafs. The pumpkin was a stamp that I colored using the new coloring in MDS2.

Jaundice- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop! This week we have a sketch to work with! I had a lot of fun with it. Here is the page I made. (click on the page to see it bigger).

I used pictures of our daughter when she was 3 days old in the hospital under the lights for the Jaundice she had. It is kind of hard to scrapbook pictures that are so blue! :) But I used the Tickets and Tags kit and it went very well with the pictures I think! This kit is very versatile. I layered a lot of different embellishments and elements on my page. I am happy with the way this page came out!

3 Months!- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop! This week was my turn to pick a theme and I picked to use the colors Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Grey and Whisper White.

I originally picked these colors because I had a picture of my daughter in a onsie with flowers in these colors on it, but once I started to make a page with the pictures, it wasn't going so well, so I decided to take a break. I took Hannah out side in her new hat and then it hit me...her hat is three of the colors I need to use this week! So I ran in and got the camera and wa-la...here is my 12x12 double page layout! (click on the pages to see them in more detail!)

Once I had the pictures taken the page came together real quickly and I am so happy with the way it came out! I built my flower leaves using the Grosgrain ribbon and bows and added a few buttons to make the flowers.

I can't believe our baby girl is three months old today! Happy 3 months Hannah! :)

Hanging With Daddy- cac128

It's Tuesday and that means it is time for a new colourQ's challenge! This week the colors were Going Grey, Glorious Green, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery and Ivory. (click in the page to see it bigger!)

I love how you can change your pictures to black and white and then can use any colors you want on the page with them! That is what I did with theses pictures of my husband and Hannah hanging out together.

Tummy Time- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the My Digital Studio Blog Hop! I always get excited for Friday's because I love working on pages using My Digital Studio!

This week's theme was a layout that Heather picked out! Here is is:

When I first saw the layout I knew I wanted to use fun "play time" pictures, because look at the layout...doesn't it just look fun?!

I had just taken some tummy time pictures of Hannah in some fun bright pajamas, so I decided to use those pictures on my page. (click on the page to see it in more detail!)

The colors I used on my page were Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White which I got out of the pajamas she is wearing. The font of the title is Cafe Rojo. I added an overlay from the Hip and Handsome Overlay stamp set to the Pretty in Pink background paper to give it a bit of a texture and interest.
