It's mid-month so that means it is time for some "mid-montspiration" from the  Stampin' Celebration Inspiration design team!  We have a sketch to go with the inspiration pictures we posted on the first of the month.   You can use just the sketch and link it up on the main SCIC site or you can use just the inspiration pictures, OR you can use them both!!  Here is what I made for April's sketch:

A bright a sunny birthday card in MDS!  I had fun putting different elements into this card from different kits and stamps sets.

Here is the sketch:

We would love if you joined us!  Be sure to link up to the main Stampin' Celebration site here by April 25 to be in the running for the "Pick of the Party"!

Fall Flowers- Mid Month SCIC59

It's mid month already!! And I have got a Mid-Monthspiration for you from the Stampin' Celebration Challenge blog!  I hope this gives you some inspiration to join us...you have till the 25 to submit your project.  Here is what I made:

I made a card!  I used the wood-grain embossing folder to give the Whisper White some texture and then made the flowers inspired by the inspiration pictures by using various punches and a few pearls.

The colors I used for the flowers are Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, More Mustard, Really Rust and Basic Grey.  I used the Itty Bitty Banners stamped on to vellum card stock with Black StazOn and then cut it out using the Itty Bitty Banners Framelits.

We would love it if you played along with us!  I look forward to seeing what you were inspired to make by using October's inspiration pictures!  Be sure to link it up to the main Stampin' Celebration site here by October 25 to be in the running to be our "Pick of the Party"!

Catalog Card CASE- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This week we are CASE-ing from a catalog!  I decided to make a card this week and CASE it from the Idea Book and Catalog page 19.  In the catalog they have it as a piece of framed art, but I made it into a card in MDS.

The colors on my card are Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla.  These colors look great together I think and this card would be suitable for females and males alike!

Are you ready to hop on over to the next blog? The easiest way to do so is to click on the name right below mine, so that would be Mandy and then from her blog hop on over to Julie's blog and so on until you have hopped a full circle back to here!

Alex's First Birthday

It's Tuesday and that means it is time for a new colourQ's challenge!  This week the colors are Poppy Parade, Certainly Celery, Cool Caribbean, Kraft and White.

This super simple page is of Alex on his first birthday.  The theme of his party was Dinosaur Pirate and these colors worked perfectly with the theme.

I hope you have a chance to stop by the colourQ blog and see the other design team members projects this week...it is an "anything but a card" week and feel free to play along as well!

Alex's Birthday-MDS Blog Hop Week 2

Welcome to week 2 of the MDS Blog Hop! Thanks for stopping by! This week our theme is Birthday! Again I don't have any kids of my own....yet....and taking picture of my husband and I's birthdays just isn't the same as cute kids, so I scraped my cousins little boy on the day he was born...his birthday!

This week I made a two page layout...weird I know :) ...but I just couldn't make a single page using the new digital download Tickets and Tags kit! I love love the colors and the papers and everything in this kit! Check it out here!

So here is the page that goes on the left. (Click on it to see it bigger!)

I really couldn't stop playing with all of the elements that come in this kit! There are a TON of them.

And here is the page that goes on the right side. (Click on it
to see it bigger!) I used Alesha's ScrapSketch59 sketch as my starting point for the pages, but made it into a two page spread.

I added stitching and lots of laying and shadows to the pages to make them just right!

Here is both of them side by side so you can see the full effect.

These pages were a labor of love and I know my cousin will enjoy them too!

Are you ready to hop on over to the next blog? The easiest way to do so is to click on the name right below mine, so that would be Mandy and then from her blog hop on over to Amber's blog and so on until you have hopped a full circle back to here!

Enjoy the hop!

Non-Winning Artisan Award- Western Boot card

Here is another card I made for Artisan Award this year. I loved these colors together (Basic Black, Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler). (Click on the card to see it bigger!)

I used the Newsprint designer series paper and squares of the colored card stock to make the cards background. I also sponged Basic Black classic ink around all the edges of the DSP. Do you see the words in the DSP that go so well with the stamped image? I totally planned it, but don't know if anyone else notices! :)

I stamped the boot image from the Out West stamp set in Versa mark onto watercolor paper and then embossed it using black embossing powder with a touch of dazzling diamonds in it. I added the Basic Black satin bow and an antique brad in the middle to finish it off.

Nothing too crazy and technical here, but clean and sticking colors I think make this card worthy! :)

if you were at convention you may have seen this card on the display boards...it was there!

Hoola-Hooping Birthday! CCMC-SUM04

It's the end of week 4 over at the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition and that means we only have one more week left!

This week's Saturday challenge is a sketch challenge. Here is what I came up with. I decided to use the Recess stamp set and not go with the recess theme, but rather the girl birthday theme. I think it worked out okay.

The colors I used were Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla. My card measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4". I like making this size of card because it still fits into a normal envelope and doesn't take any extra postage.

Here is a close up of the main image and the ribbon. Nothing too crazy on this card, but just straight to the point!

I hope you have time to create with us this week at the Summer Edition!

If you haven't already signed up for the Summer Edition, it is not too late! You will still be able to see all the projects that we have already shared and the projects still to come! This is such a great resource for fun projects that include full tutorials for every single one!! Hope to see you over there soon!

Bright Birthday Candles- SCIC46

It's Thursday and that means time for another Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge! This week we are celebrating bright fun springy colors! Look at these inspiration pictures, aren't they fun?

I was drawn to the different colored and height candles in the bottom right inspiration picture and knew it would make a great birthday card.

Here is what I came up with! I just cut various heights and widths of Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait and Regal Rose card stocks and then sponged the edges of the candles.

I did spritz them using the Shimmer Smooch to give them a little shimmer and texture and then glued them onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.
I used a small heart punch cut in half for the flames.

I mounted the main images onto a piece of Melon Mambo card stock and then onto a piece of Whisper White card stock I sent though the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Then I mounted it onto the Melon Mambo card base.

Here is a close up of the candles. You can see the shimmer better here. The sentiment is from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I hope you have a chance to join us over at the Stampin' Celebration blog this week! We would love to see what you come up with...you never know, you may be our next "Party Guest" designer!!

Trio of Cupcakes- SCIC43

It's Friday and that means yesterday was Thursday and that means it is time for another Stampin' Celebration Inspiration challenge! (Yes, I am late....eeek!) This week we are celebrating St. Patrick's day with a lot of chocolate!

I kind of had a hard time creating something this week, because I really didn't need another St. Partick's day card and as you can see from the inspiration pictures they scream St. Patrick's day, but I decided to focus on those yummy looking chocolate cupcakes.

Here is what I came up with, a trio of Early Espresso cupcakes adorned with a few Pear Pizzazz sprinkles!

I used the Build a Cupcake punch to make the cupcakes and did a little something different with the frosting....can you see it has a a little different shape to it than the normal frosting shape the punch punches?

Here is what I did with the frosting. I inserted a piece of Early Espresso card stock that had a Decorative Label already punched out of it into the Build a Cupcake punch and arranged it as the picture to the right shows and there you go, frosting that looks a little different! I think it looks a little more realistic.

Here is a close up. You can see the sprinkles on top of the cupcakes are the little tiny hearts from the Pinking Hearts Border punch.

I hope to see your creation over at the Stampin' Celebration this week too! You never know, you may be the next "Party Guest" Designer with us!

Simple Cupcake

Here is a super simple cute birthday card I made using the Build a Cupcake stamp and punch from the Occasions Mini catalog. The colors are Crumb Cake and Rose Red.

I pulled the inspiration straight from the mini catalog on page 23. I just mounted the image panel onto a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base and it was done!

Crisp Birhtday- SCIC#40

Ready for a fresh inspiration piece? This week over at the Stampin' Celebration blog we have the perfect collection of pictures for inspiration full of white, yellow and a splash of red.

Here is what I came up with, a clean crisp birthday card. I made the yellow background by stamping images from the Baby Blossoms stamp set in So Saffron and Daffodil Delight all over the Whisper White card stock and mounted it onto a piece of So Saffron card stock.

The sentiment was stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink and then punched out using the Decorative Label punch.

I ruffled a piece of Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon behind the main panel and attached it to the Whisper White card base that has a piece of vellum over the top of it.

What a refreshing color combination to work with! I hope you decide to play along with us this week too!

Recipe:
Stamps: Bring on the Cake, Baby Blossoms
Paper: Whisper White, Vellum cards stock, So Saffron
Ink: SO Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Decorative Label punch, Chery Cobbler seam binding

Sweet Birthday Wishes-ccmc-om2

What a week over at the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Mini Edition! Ok, on to this week's Saturday challenge, it is a sketch challenge. This is a challenge for our subscribers to join in and every time they do they are entered to win a $75 Stampin' Up! merchandise gift certificate and a FREE registration to Create with Connie and Mary Summer Mini Edition!

Here is what I came up with. Have I told you that I LOVE My Digital Studio? It is so versatile. What do you do if you do not own the actual stamp set that you really want to use? I pull out the So Much to Sale-a-Brate Digital Content CD (that you can get FREE from the Sale-A-Bration catalog) and print out the images that I want to use!! That is what I did for this card.

I printed out the images on Naturals White card stock I wanted from the Sweet Summer and So Happy for You stamp sets, colored them in, punched them out and added them to my card! I guess you could call this a hybrid card! :)

If the image lines look like they are a little thicker than they should be that is because they are! After I printed them out I traced them using the little side of an Early Espresso marker to give it just a little bit of a different look, I kind of like it for this card.

I like the way this card came together with all the different elements and details!

Be sure to head over to the Create with Connie and Mary site to check out the other Design Team Members cards using this sketch this week. While you are there make sure you check out their blogs as well!

Dressed-up Paper Bag Favor- CCMC-OM1

Wow has it been an AMAZING week one over at the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Mini Edition! We have been creating using all the "Bring on the Cake Suite" things from the mini and let me tell you...there have been some SUPER cute and some one of a kind projects made using these products! Do I have you interested yet? Do you want to see what I am talking about? I bet you do! It is never to late to join the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Mini Edition. Click here to find out how to subscribe and get in on all the fun!

It is time for the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Mini Edition Saturday Challenge...week one we are making party favors using the "Bring on the Cake Suite" products! What perfect products to make a party favor!

Here is what I made, a dressed-up paper bag party favor! I started with a plain old paper bag (you can use any size you want) and stamped the number image from the Bring on the Cake stamp set. Then I measured the circumference around the bottom of the bag and then cut the Cherry Cobble card stock to that size and then cut slits in it to give it some interest. I then adhered it to the bag using sticky strip.

I used a few little strips of acetate to mount a few small paper stars to the bag so it looks like they are flying up behind the cupcake.

The cupcake was made using the new Create a Cupcake punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog using Daffodil Delight and Basic Black card stock and was mounted onto a 1 3/4" circle Naturals White card stock using dimensionals.

Change the color scheme and you would have a super cute party favor for a girl's birthday, or baby shower or wedding! So many options for this cute little favor!

The Saturday challenges are for our subscribers to play along with us! When they enter the challenges, they have their name put in the drawing for one of two $75 merchandise certificates and one of two FREE subscriptions to Create with Connie and Mary SUMMER Editon. The more they enter the challenges, the more times their name is entered into the drawing! You can subscribe here!

Pile of Cupcakes- SCIC#35

Are you ready to celebrate?!? We over at the Stampin' Celebration blog are, and we want you to join us! This week we are welcoming two new design team members and a brand new blog design/look!

We have our weekly inspiration challenge as well as some BLOG CANDY! Head over to the Stampin' Celebration blog for more details, to see the new look and to welcome the new design team members!!

Look at these fun bright inspiration pictures we have to work with this week! Here is what I came up with!

I used the new Cupcake punch from the Occasions mini and different colors of card stock (Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist, Real Red, Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight and Baja Breeze) to make the cupcakes. I sent the "frosting" through the Big Shot with the Perfect polka dots embossing folder. To give the cupcakes a little more depth, I sponged the coordinating inks on them.

I made the cupcake stand using the scalloped edge punch and a few circles. The swirl's are from the Swirls Scribble Sizzlits die and the Big Shot. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink on to Whisper White card stock ans then made into a banner.

I hope you join us in our celebrating this week over at the Stampin' Celebration blog!

Thanks for looking!

Shimmering Flakes- SCIC34

It's Thursday and that means time for another Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge! This week we are celebrating frosty cold winter! I love all the blue's and sparkle in the inspiration pictures. Feel free to play along with us by uploading your creation at the Stampin' Celebration blog!
Here is what I came up with for this week. The colors are Whisper White and Bashful Blue and a hint of Frost White Shimmer Paint.

I used a piece of Vellum card stock and embossed it using the Northern Flurry embossing folder (you can still get it, even though it was in the Holiday Mini) and then sponge-daubed over the snowflakes using Bashful Blue and a tiny bit of Marina Mist classic inks. Then I sponge-daubed over the blue snowflakes with the Frost White Shimmer Paint to give them a bit of a shimmer.

In this picture, you can see the shimmer a little bit better.

The sentiment comes from the new stamp set in the Occasions Mini catalog called Bring on the Cake and it was stamped on the Vellum card stock using Black Staz-On.

Thanks for looking!
I hope I inspired you to create something too!

OH!!! You are NOT going to want to miss out on next week's (1/13) celebration on the Stampin' Celebration blog....trust me! :)

Annie's AG Themed Card

I am so excited I was invited to be apart of Annie's all girls 'American Girl' birthday weekend! Annie is Lou's daughter and she is turning 11 this week!

This weekend is all about Annie and one of the things she loves dearly...her American Girl (AG) dolls! So I knew the card I was going to make for her was going to have an 'American Girl' feel and here is what I came up with! Pinks and purples and stars and strips and even some bling! I really had a blast making this for her!

The stars were punched out of Brushed Silver, Melon Mambo, Perfect Plum and Rich Razzleberry card stock using the small star and the large star punches. They were mounted onto a piece of Vellum card stock that was layered on top of Melon Mambo strips. Then I added a few Basic Rhinestones to add some bling!

The greeting I made using a few different stamp sets and then mounted it onto a crumpled piece of Silver Waffle paper.

When you open the card it has a place for a gift card. I made my own for her. Here is a close up of the gift card that I made. I die cut the letters and numbers using my Big Shot and the Timeless Type alphabet in Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry card stocks and then layered them. I mounted the letters and numbers on to a piece of Perfect Plum card stock and then onto a piece of Brushed Silver card stock that has some more Silver Waffle paper tucked in between the two layers. Then of course a few more rhinestones aka BLING!

I stamped the "happiness" stamp all over the Melon Mambo card stock on the inside of the card. Here you can see it.

I really had a ton of fun making this special card for my friend Annie! Happy Birthday!!

Snowflake Frost- SCIC30

It's Thursday and that means it is time for another Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge! This week we have these elegant inspiration pictures to work with. Look at all that glitter and glam in the pictures! We would love for you to play along with us! Just stop by the Stampin' Celebration blog and link your creation!

When I saw these pictures, they gave me a frosty-wintery feeling, so I decided to go with the sparkly snowflake theme! Here is what I came up with! (glitter and shimmery things are soo hard to take pictures of...anyone have any recommendations?)

The colors I used on my card are Whisper White, Brushed Silver, Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant and Concord Crush. I die cut the snowflakes from the Merry Details Sizzlit die in all four of the purples. Then I used the Frost White Shimmer paint and lightly sponged all the snowflakes and any Whisper White card stock on the front of my card. The snowflakes are held together using a brad that I dipped into Tombow adhesive and then dipped into the Silver Glass Glitter.

The snowflakes are mounted on to 1 1/2" squares of Brushed Silver card stock that I added Silver Glass Glitter to each of the sides using the Tombow adhesive. The sentiment comes from the Curly Cute stamp set.

I mounted the snowflake panel on to a piece of Vellum card stock that I crumpled up in my hands to give it an icy-cold look.

Really this card did not take all that long to create, even though it look like it would be!

Thanks for looking!
and I hope I inspired you to create something too!

Engraved Masculine

Everyone needs masculine cards at some point..right? And they are always hard to come up with. Here are a few simple masculine-ish cards that would be great for any man.

I made them using the Engraved Greeting's stamp set. The colors I used were Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Early Espresso. I used all the same pieces on each card, but I just arranged them differently.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! And I will be back in a few days with some fun Christmas stuff!

Bright Flowers- SCIC26

It's Thursday and that means it is time for another Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge! This week we are celebrating sweets in all shapes, sizes and colors! Look at all the bright fun colors in all those candies and I was inspired by just that...all the fun bright colors this week!

Here is what I came up with, Bright Flowers! I LOVE water coloring and these flowers from the stamp set Awash with Flowers is always a fun one to color! I chose to use only colors from the Brights Collection on my card this week to match the colors of the candies in the inspiration pictures. The colors I used were Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.

I started off by stamping the outlines if the flowers onto Water Color paper using Black StazOn ink and masking a little bit to make the flowers look like they were overlapping. Then I took the markers in the colors I used and added color to the flowers and used my blender pens to color them in.

I added the sentiment from Curly Cute on a wavy banner then mounted it to the main image and mounted that onto a Very Vanilla card base and the card was done!

Be sure to check out the other design team members creations too and I hope I inspired you to join us this week!
