Ur7!- CCMC-SUM02

It's Saturday and that means it is time for another Saturday Challenge from the LinkCreate with Connie and Mary Summer Edition! This week we have a sketch challenge.

Here is my fun bright card for a special 7 year old that had a birthday this past week! I used the Touch of Kindness stamp set, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Water Color (white) papers to make this card.

I also had fun adding embellishments to it like the Basic Rhinestone "diamonds", the 5/8" Daffodil Delight ribbon and the texture from the Big Shot Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

I even decorated the inside of this card, which I do not do very often, to make it match the bold bright-ness of the front of it. Here it is.

This card was fun to put together because of all the bright colors I used that I normally do not use all at the same time!

Here is the sketch for this week. What a fun one to work with!

Do you want to get in on the fun creative projects and tutorials we have been sharing for the past few weeks? Yes...then you need to head over to the Create with Connie and Mary site and subscribe to the Summer Mini Edition!

Don't worry, even though we already underway, you will still be able to see all of the projects from the past two weeks as well as all the projects from the coming 3 weeks no matter when you subscribe! Oh by the way...the Saturday challenges are the only projects that we share with everyone...become a subscriber to see all the other projects and tutorials and to get chances to win two FREE $75 gift certificates or one of two FREE subscriptions to the next Holiday Edition!

Thanks for looking!

Sailing Adventure- CCMC-SUM01

WOW...has it been an amazing first week over at the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition site! We have had lots of fun and unique project's (all with full picture tutorials) shared and this is only the first week! If you want to get in on the fun you need to head over to the Create with Connie and Mary site and subscribe! Don't worry, you will still be able to see all of the projects from this week as well as all the projects from the coming 4 weeks no matter when you subscribe! Oh by the way...the Saturday challenges are the only projects that we share with everyone...become a subscriber to see all the other projects and tutorials!

So here is my card for the Saturday challenge. This week we have a color challenge of using Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Grey and Not Quite Navy.

Our subscribers who participate in the Saturday challenges are entered to win one of two $75 gift certificates or one of two FREE subscriptions to Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition. Who wouldn't want either one of those?

More about my card...I used the Sail Away stamp set from in the Summer Mini and then of course the colors from this week. The stamp is so fun to watercolor! I also used the Travel Log stamp set for the "adventure" sentiment that I thought went well with the image.

I added a few Jumbo Eyelets to tie in the sailing/nautical theme. I also added a border of 1/4" Early Espresso Grosgrain ribbon around the Not Quite Navy card stock. If you look closely you can see it in this picture. I think that it helped with the sailing/nautical theme too.

Be sure to check out the other Design Team members projects using these colors this week too by stopping by the Create with Connie and Mary site!

Thanks for looking!
and I hope to see you over at the CCM Summer Edition soon!

In Color Mom

Happy Mothers Day! I hope all you mothers out there have a wonderful day!

I have a simple card to share today. If you saw my FREE tutorial I made for the preview week's for the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition, then this will look a bit familiar!

To make the card all I did was stamp the images from the stamp set Flower Fest onto Vellum card stock using Black StazOn and then colored them in using Stampin' Write markers, mounted the vellum onto a piece pf Whisper White card stock and then onto the Blush Blossom card base! So easy and fun, but yet it makes a bold statement!

I also stamped the "Mom" from Messages for Mom onto Vellum card stock using Black StazOn.

I added a simple little bow to the card and it was finished!

Be sure you are checking out the Create with Connie and Mary site....there is BLOG CANDY frequently over there for the next week! You do not want to miss out on the Early Bird Special on the Summer Edition either...it is a $5 savings!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Messages for Mom and Flower Fest.
Paper: Vellum card stock, Blush Blossom and Whisper White.
Inks: Black SatzOn
Accessories: Poppy Parade, Blush Blossom and Peach Parfait Stampin' Write Markers, 5/8" Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon.

Thanks for looking!

Dressed-up Paper Bag Favor- CCMC-OM1

Wow has it been an AMAZING week one over at the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Mini Edition! We have been creating using all the "Bring on the Cake Suite" things from the mini and let me tell you...there have been some SUPER cute and some one of a kind projects made using these products! Do I have you interested yet? Do you want to see what I am talking about? I bet you do! It is never to late to join the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Mini Edition. Click here to find out how to subscribe and get in on all the fun!

It is time for the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Mini Edition Saturday Challenge...week one we are making party favors using the "Bring on the Cake Suite" products! What perfect products to make a party favor!

Here is what I made, a dressed-up paper bag party favor! I started with a plain old paper bag (you can use any size you want) and stamped the number image from the Bring on the Cake stamp set. Then I measured the circumference around the bottom of the bag and then cut the Cherry Cobble card stock to that size and then cut slits in it to give it some interest. I then adhered it to the bag using sticky strip.

I used a few little strips of acetate to mount a few small paper stars to the bag so it looks like they are flying up behind the cupcake.

The cupcake was made using the new Create a Cupcake punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog using Daffodil Delight and Basic Black card stock and was mounted onto a 1 3/4" circle Naturals White card stock using dimensionals.

Change the color scheme and you would have a super cute party favor for a girl's birthday, or baby shower or wedding! So many options for this cute little favor!

The Saturday challenges are for our subscribers to play along with us! When they enter the challenges, they have their name put in the drawing for one of two $75 merchandise certificates and one of two FREE subscriptions to Create with Connie and Mary SUMMER Editon. The more they enter the challenges, the more times their name is entered into the drawing! You can subscribe here!

Paisley Turkey & BLOG CANDY!

!!BLOG CANDY ALERT!! read on to find out what it is....I was playing with the new Paisley Prints stamp set from the Holiday Mini and got the idea to make the leafs from the stamp set into some feathers for Mr. Turkey!

I stamped the leaf image onto Very Vanilla card stock using Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard, So Saffron and Cherry Cobble classic ink and then cut them all out.

I made the body using the 1" and 1 3/8" circle punches (Early Espresso), the vest (More Mustard) and feet (Basic Black) from the Owl punch, his "arm's" (Early Espresso) were from the Scalloped Oval punch and I made his beak using Pumpkin Pie card stock. I arranged the leafs into a feather shape and added them to the back of his body using dimentionals to give them a little depth.

I sponged some Early Espresso classic ink on to the Crumb Cake card stock to give him a little something to stand on. The Sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Thanks for looking!

Cute Little Witch- CCMC115

This week over at the Create with Connie and Mary blog they have a fun fall-ish color challenge! The colors are Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. They said you didn't have to make a fall themed project, but I decided I wanted to and I knew what set I wanted to use, the new Greeting Card Kids! I haven been wanting to use this super cute new set and this was the perfect color challenge to use with it.

Here is my card! I love coloring on water color paper and this stamp set is perfect for it! I stamped the little witch on to Water Color paper using Black StazOn and then used the markers from this weeks colors to highlight areas on the image. Then I came back in with my blender pen to blend and fill in the rest of the image.

I added the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Early Espresso and then tired a piece of Linen Thread around the image in a bow. I created the card base background by stamping the sentiment over and over again on the bottom half of the card and then I used Crumb Cake classic ink and the retired Canvas background stamp for the top half.

Thanks for looking!

P.S. Be sure to check back here frequently in the next week or so.....I have one free subscription to the Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition to give away!! And be sure to check out the Create with Connie and Mary blog...the preview period starts today!
