B&W Fish Finder and Tiles- CCCCAct8

If you are my sister and do not want to see your birthday present and card do no go any further...until after your birthday!

Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge this week, Act 8, was inspired my this Halloween table setting. The colors are Basic Black, Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie. Of course you look at these colors and think Halloween, but I don't need anymore Halloween cards so I came up with something else that was black, white and orange.

My sister's birthday is this week and needed to make her a card and present, so I thought of her and here is what I came up with. A Penguin card! She loves penguins and they are black, white and orange so I knew it would be perfect! I made the penguin and the fish by using various Stampin' Up! punches. The background of the card is Whisper White card stock and Vellum card stock ripped to look like snow. The "sky" (top third) of the card has a layer of the Snowfall Printed Window Sheets from the Holiday Mini catalog over it.

Here is a close up of the background and the fish! I covered the fish with the Orange teeny-tiny Micro Beads from Stampin' Up! I think she will like this little guy a lot!

And for her present, it is black and white (no orange). I made her these tile coasters. This was the first time I have ever made these and they were so easy and fun! Tutorial for these can be found on this post.

We were at her apartment and asked for a coaster and she said she didn't have any....so I made her some. I think she will like these too!

Thanks for looking!

P.S. Here is a list of the punches I used:

3 Wide Oval's- one white and two black for the penguin body
1 Large Oval cut to make his wings
1" circle for penguin head
Boho Blossoms for his feet
His beak was free hand cut

1" circle for the fish body
5-Petal Flower for the fish tail
Boho Blossoms for the fish lips
