Rich Razzled Leaves- CAS33, CC237, SAAC 9.23

Here is a card that I made with one challenge in mind when I started and when I was done I had combined three that I had been wanting to do! All three challenges just fell into this simple card very nicely together!

The three challenges are Splitcoast's Color Combination, which was Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Basic Black, Splitcoast's Clean and Simple (CAS), which was to be inspired by this sketch and Stampin' Addicts Accessories Challenge which was to use one of SU! Library Clips.

I used SU! Falling Leaves stamp set to stamp the leaves in Rich Razzleberry ink, then added the Crushed Curry ribbon and the Library Clip. I mounted the main image on dimentionals, then added the sentiment from the stamp set Thank You Kindly in Basic Black ink and I was done! So simple and quick!

Echos of Purple- SACC31

As I was looking around blogs yesterday I saw on Brandi's (The Squareheaded stamper)blog something about challenges at Stampin Addicts so I decided to go check it out. It is an online community that loves stamping, so I had to join! As I was looking around I found a color combo challenge I had to try!

The colors were Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum, Basic Gray and Basic Black and here is the card I made using them. I used the retired stamp set Echos of Kindness. I inked and stamped the main image with Versa Make on the Richrazzleberry cardstock to give it a subtle backround. I stamped the image on watercolor paper and used my aqua painter pen to color it in. I finished the card off by tying a piece of 5/8" Basic Black Grossgrain ribbon and adding a few black brads.

I look forward to participating in more challenges over at Stampin Addicts!

Vanilla Wedding Cake- CAS32

This week over at Splitcoast the Clean and Simple (CAS) challenge was to make a wedding card. Here is what I came up with and I really like it! I don't think the picture does it justice at all! It was hard to get a good picture of the same colored detail.

I made the background for the card by sending a piece of Vellum Card stock though my Big Shot with the Damask texture plate. I then sewed it on to the card base using my sewing machine. I made the cake (I saw a cake like this on the boards at convention...but I don't know who made it!) by cutting pieces of Very Vanilla card stock and layering them to look like a cake and then added ribbon, flowers and brads to give it the finishing touch.

Here is a close up of the detail on the card.

Happy Hippo's and Big Butterfly- CCCCAct4

I finally got to make a card for Stacey's Curtain Call Challenge. (Last week I was planning on participating before I went out of town for a family reunion, but two days before I left, I got sick and couldn't leave bed! No fun!) So this week for her Act 4 Color Challenge the colors were Brilliant Blue, Pixie Pink, Real Red and Whisper White. These colors are not colors I would have ever put together, but I did manage to make two cards, because the first one I was not sure of, but then the more I got used to the colors, I kind of liked it!

Here is my first card. It uses the set Pun Fun. I stamped the hippo's in Basic Black Classic ink on Watercolor paper and then colored them using the appropriate colors with my Aqua Painter pen. I made the hippo's in a line by doing a little masking. It is hard to see in the picture, but there are a line of embossed dots on the top and the bottom of the white card stock. I finished off the card by tying a piece of Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon.

Here is my second card. It was very simple and quick to make! I die cut a Real Red and a Pixie Pink butterfly from the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies die using the Big Shot and then layered them onto a piece of Brilliant Blue card stock added a sentiment and I was done!

Thanks Stacey for getting me to use colors that are neglected in my stamping room!

ETA: Stacey picked my hippo card for her Show Stopper Award this week! So I get to post this badge on my blog!

Blue Bird on a Branch- CAS30

Here is my card for Splitcoast's Clean and Simple (CAS) card this week. It was Make Overs week. What that means is re-make one of your cards you have made in the past and make it a CAS.

I was looking though my gallery and saw this owl card and thought I could make this simpler by making a simple cute bird I saw on Connie Collins blog instead of the owl. So here is what I did!

The bird was really easy and quick to make, along with the whole card, and I think he is cute! So thanks Connie for the great idea!

oh....p.s. One of my fellow sidelines downlines downline, Tracey, started a blog...go check it out here!
