sweet sunday sketch challenge #5- Bee Hive

Here is Karen's sweet sunday sketch challenge this week. The first thing I think about when I start a new sketch challenge is: what stamp set am I going to use? After I have that decided, then I choose the colors I am going to use based on the theme of the stamp set.

This week I decided to use the Just Buzzin' By stamp set. The colors that I went with are So Saffron (DSP and to color the bee's), Chocolate Chip (DSP and 5/8" ribbon), Close to Cocoa, Whisper White and More Mustard (to color the Hive). I also added glitter glue to the wings of all three of the little bee's.

I used dimentionals to pop the bee's and the hive off the Close to Cocoa background a little bit, and yes, I did cut out those tiny little bee's! I would not recommend doing this for a bunch of cards! :)

Have a great day and thanks for looking!

P.S. This card measures 4 1/4" X 4 1/4". I will post a video on how I made the envelope fit this card soon!

P.S.S. What do you think of the new stripes on the side of my blog? Do they grab your attention too much or are they ok? (Honest opinions please!)

What a sweet little card - all your hard work cutting out the bees paid off though, very fun!
