Santa Head

This is my Santa head. I made my first one a few years ago and this year was the first year that I decided to sell them. They went over really well! I sold them at the craft fair I was at about a month ago and then I took orders for others.

It is fun to make a couple clay pots, a saucer, rope, a drawer pull and some wire come to life!

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Shadow

This is a shadow box that I made using a SU Decore Element. It was sooo easy to make and didn't take much time at all!

The Decore Element is in Chocolate Chip and the paper behind it is the Riding Hood Red prints pack from the current catalog.

This picture show the "shadow" better. These kinds of shadow boxes are all over Splitcoat, and a lot of them have things in the shadow box, but I decided to leave mine empty.

A Beary Cristmas

Here are a few Christmas cards using the Under the Stars stamp set. This bear is so fun to make do different things.

I used a few different stamp sets to accessorize the bear with on this first card. The paper is from last years DSP Christmas pack.

In this second picture, you can tell that the bears hat as liquid applique on it to give it some depth.

The second card also uses multiple stamp sets to accessorize the bear with. Isn't he cute? Looks like he got a good tree to take home and decorate!

December $5 Friday

Tonight was $5 Friday! (Click here if you want to know what this is all about!)

This is the first card we did. It maybe a little hard to tell in this picture (there was no natural light to take with picture with, because it was snowing out) but the colors are Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Whisper White. The stamp set's that I used were Wonderful You and Fundamental Phrases. I used the 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches for the saying and two little black brads in the top right corner.

The second card we did was this bright birdie card! The DSP is from the Hawaii Papaya pack. The main card is Tangerine Tango and the other colors are Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. The stamp set is from the A Little Birdie Told Me. The punches are the scallop, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches. I paper pierced the bird from one of the papers from the DSP's in the Hawaii Papaya pack.

December Club

Here is the card that we made for club this month. It uses the emboss resist technique. I think this card makes a good masculine card.

The emboss Resit technique is really pretty simple. All you do is pick a DSP, rub your embossing buddy over it, ink your stamp with Versa Mark, stamp it, pour clear embossing powder on it, emboss it, then sponge a darker color (here I used Always Artichoke) all over it and you will begin to see your embossed image pop! If you can't see your image very well, just sponge more ink on to it!

The colors in the card are Chocolate Chip, Craft and Always Artichoke. The DSP I used is from the Manchester paper pack. The tree stamp is from Lovely as a Tree. I used the linen thread to tie around the Always Artichoke paper to finish it off.

The other project we did in club this month was the little lanterns with the tea lights in them. I did a tutorial on them a few monthes ago on here. You can find it by clicking on the "Tutorial's" link and then look for the Lanterns.

Magic Reindeer Food

If you have little ones that like to make sure Santa is going to stop by on Christmas Eve, here is a little treat that will help guide his Reindeer to your house.

Magic Reindeer Food Mix:
-Oats
-Red Sugar Crystals

Combine both ingredients in cellophane bag, add topper, add a cute poem and decorate!
(The poem I used is a combination of one I found on Splitcoast and my own rhyming!!)

Snowman Soup

Here is a fun simple treat to make to give to your friends and family this Holiday season, it's Snowman Soup!

Soup Contents:

-Hot Cocoa Packet
-Little baggie of mini marshmallows
-Mini candy cane
-A Hershey's Kiss

Put all the Soup ingredients into a cellophane bag, add a topper, add a cute saying and decorate!

This is the saying that I used. I got it from someone at Splicoast but I left out a line and maybe changed a few words.

Happy Holidays!!

Holiday Craft Fair

I recently did a Holiday Craft Fair. I like doing craft fair's, but you have do work really hard to get everything together and done on time (I seem to work best under pressure and wait till the last minutes to finish up things)

This is what my table looked like (notice the wooden crates!). I sold individual cards, packs of Christmas cards, Magic Reindeer Food, Snowman Soup, Gift Tags, Gift Card holders, Card storage boxes and my Santa Heads.

To the left is a a close up of the display of my Gift Tags (on the tree) and some of the Christmas card packs, Reindeer Food and Snowman Soup (the food and soup are on top of the crate)

This is a picture of my individual cards that I have in a rack. The small box to the right has more cards in it, they are organized by category.

Here is a close up of my Santa Heads and the Card Storage Box's.

Thanks for looking! (I will post better close up shots of some of the projects soon!)

Punched Turkey (from my mom and sister)

I thought I would post the card that my mom and sister made for us this Thanksgiving. It is a Turkey made from punches. Isn't he cute?

I don't know exactly what punches they used, but I can spot some circle punches, some oval punches and the scallop edge punch.

Here is a close up to show the dimension the turkey has! How cute!!

Thanks Mom and Stacy!

My Crates!

I did a craft fair a few weeks ago and while I was trying to figure out how I was going to set my table up (a few weeks before the craft fair) I decided I needed some crates to display some of my things in on my table. So I started looking on-line to try to buy them and I had no luck at all, so my husband, Jon, said he would build me some! So he did and they turned out wonderful!!! Here are some action shots of him building them! :)

There is one that is done on the right! You will see better pictures of them when I post my craft fair table pictures! I am lucky to have a husband that likes to build things for me, other wise I wouldn't have these cool crates!

Elegant Embossed Fresh Cuts

I think black and white look very elegant together, so that is why I used that color combination for this card.

It is hard to tell in this picture, but the main card is Very Vanilla card stock. I embossed the vine stamp from the Fresh Cuts stamp set on the Very Vanilla with White embossing powder from top to bottom a little off center of the whole card. I layered Basic Black and Whisper White card stock together and then stamped the main image in Basic Black classic ink. I finished off the card by adding some Black Organdy ribbon and stamping the greeting in the bottom corner.
